Noise Meditation

Saturday, April 18, 2009

Concentration is difficult. But its a skill that can be developed. Or a state that can be achieved. Meditation and its various forms work pretty well for it. Sometimes noise can be a great way to help concentration. Use the ipod. When I have to really force myself to study when I'm running away too fast away from it, I put on some great music on the ipod loud enough and start studying. Works well. Singing along, I end up getting involved in whatever I was trying to study.

I guess, that is called managing to get work done. Even from myself.

Should I give up Chasing Pavements...

Every once in a while we have a hard time giving something up. This song reminds me of all of those things. And of all the confusion those situations mean. But its not a sad song. It has been nominated for the song of the year 2008 and the artist Adele won the best new artist grammy award. I didn't totally love this till I heard it for 5 times and totally got addicted to it. The video is so artistic and it took me a moment to realize that it is really as lovely as that!

Magic Of Mother Tongue

If we observe closely, the music in our mother tongue works better for us than others. Not because it is better for some artistic reason. But we just connect better. So it requires less attention. It comes so naturally to us. So in some vague way, it relieves stress like no other language can. It makes us feel home; comfortable; at ease. Think about it...

Happy Music : Goldspot - Rewind

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Music speaks the language of our souls. Someone else might sing the song our heart so feels right. And thats what music is like.

I love this particular line from this song....the opening line...which I feel like saying to someone and invariably fail to....

"I'm asking you to stay..."

The lines that follow are lovely too, but the song just steals my heart at hello....

Happy Music!!

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Happy is what happy believes. Sometimes little is more and more is less and all just depends on us in the end. Music is therapy. Some notes can give you goosebumps. Some songs can get back picturesque memories back to you. Can make you happy. Sad. Overjoyed. Its a great feeling, submitting to music.
If you love music as much as that, you should keep a list of your happy music. And listen to it. Every once in a while. To remind you what makes you happy. Because every once in a while, people need reminders. That keeps us going, in the right direction. And also, be happy.
